Back by Popular Demand! Last summer, I tasked the CBP Design Team to create a wedding invite for a TV couple they loved. It was such a fun project, and we adored hearing from our IG friends who had such strong connections to these small-screen sweethearts. So, in honor of Mother’s Day we’re back with a similar assignment... Welcome to the Personalized Stationery Design Challenge, the TV Moms’ take!
Think Project Runway for paper, without the unconventional materials or the accessories wall. Each designer at the Cheree Berry Paper office was charged with picking a TV mom, past or present, and creating stationery for her. Just in time for Mother’s Day!
1. TV Mom: Morticia Addams,The Addam...

Why I chose this couple? I've watched this three-hour movie many times. I love the retro vibe. It's sort of tacky-spectacular. There is so much to pull from with the lavish costumes and scenery which are a mash up of 1960s Hollywood and 40s BC. I also love the palette of gold on gold, muted green, rich red and pops of lavender purple.
Some words to describe my custom stationery suite: Rome meets Egypt meets 1960s Hollywood, gold everything, lush greenery, over the top reveal, leopard
Describe the suite in a little detail: I wanted to capture the power of the film and the serious sparkle, so I used a gold medallion on purple with a red belly band along with die cut gre...

Why I chose this couple? I’m a big fan of both Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, so naturally I love this film. I thought it would be fun to create a 90s technology meets classic invitation suite. I decided that Kathleen and Joe would elope, but wanted friends to gather at a later date to celebrate. Guests would get a floppy disk with images from their private wedding ceremony, and the disk label would act as the invitation for the celebration.
Describe the suite in a little detail: I decided to make the event timing October, inspired by a line in the movie: “Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if...

Why I chose this couple? I love this Wes Anderson film so much. The animation, the characters and the amount of detail put into every scene is amazing. Because Mr. and Mrs. Fox are married for most of the movie, I thought it would be fun to do a vow renewal ceremony that would pick up where the film left off. The animals would be feasting and celebrating in the sewer with stolen food from farmers Bunce, Boggis and Bean.
Some words to describe my custom stationery suite for Mr. and Mrs. Fox would be: Pocket size, quote unquote "fantastic" and so cussing charming.
Describe the suite in a little detail: My first thought for designing the suite was to make it animal size. How f...

Why I chose this couple? I love the television show Psych. I’ve watched every episode of all eight seasons multiple times. And with Psych: The Movie premiering this past December where Shawn and Juliet finally tie the knot, I thought the timing was perfect for a Psych wedding invitation! A PscyhOs dream (as we fans affectionately call ourselves).
Some words to describe my custom stationery suite for Juliet and Shawn would be: Light-hearted, whimsical with lots of references to show favorites.
Describe the suite in a little detail: A pineapple appears in some way, shape or form in every episode, so the main invitation piece had to be a die-cut pineapple silhouette. The bright green envelop...

Why I chose this couple? I grew up watching I Love Lucy and have always had a soft spot for the playfully imperfect pairing of Lucy and Ricky (though I only recently found out that Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz's real life marriage ended in divorce, a fact I am choosing to ignore).
Some words to describe my custom welcome bag items for Lucy and Ricky would be: Sweet, retro, playful
My biggest challenge: It was obvious from the start that Lucy and Ricky's vow renewal invitation would be in the format of a big, bold red heart with a polka dot or houndstooth envelope liner. But in order to work in all the details from my favorite episodes, I decided to design items for their celebration weeken...

Why I chose this couple? Spoiler alert: Because the story of Mia and Sebastian can't end that way! It was cathartic to imagine the fantasy alternate ending of their love story, where Sebastian and Mia fulfill their dreams and stay together.
Some words to describe my custom stationery suite for Mia and Sebastian would be: Bold, colorful, happy, Old Hollywood, like you are stepping into a musical.
Describe the suite in a little detail: The perfect way to have guests save the date for their big day would be a record of Sebastian's song that drew Mia into the club. The type on the album cover is inspired by the neon sign at The Lighthouse Cafe where Sebastian takes Mia for her first experien...

In early January, after coming back from a wild and crazy holiday card season, we turned our focus to Weddings. So, I tasked the CBP Designers to dream up an invite for two people (real or fictitious) who they’d like to see get married or remarried. Think Kermit & Miss Piggy, Phil & Clare Dunphy, George & Martha Washington. We each created moodboards, started with sketches, and designed our way to what we considered to be the perfect stationery solution for our famous couples. To kick things off, here's Pretty in Pink!
Why I chose this couple? I was too young to see this movie when it first came out but based on the condition of my Pretty in Pink VHS, I made up for any ...
